Bob heads the firm’s commercial and corporate practice group, which acts as general counsel for more than 220 corporations and LLCs of various sizes. His law practice focuses on purchases and sales of businesses; formation of corporations, limited liability companies and other business entities; ownership disputes; banking and commercial financing transactions; business and estate planning; contract matters of all sorts; employment issues; and commercial real estate.
Bob received his bachelor of science degree in accounting, graduating cum laude from Lehigh University in 1970. He was a member of Beta Alpha Psi Accounting Honor Society and received his JD from Duke University Law School in 1973. In the fall of 1973, following his graduation from law school, Bob worked at Normandin, Cheney & O’Neil while awaiting his Air Force orders. Bob then served four years in the Judge Advocate Corps. Following his military service, he worked for a year and a half in the position of counsel within the New Hampshire Department of Employment Security before returning to Normandin, Cheney & O’Neil in 1979.
Bob is a corporator of both Laconia Savings Bank and Lakes Region General Hospital. He was a member of the board of Community Health and Hospice for 6 years and also served on the board of the Greater Laconia-Weirs Beach Chamber of Commerce. He was president of the Lake Wicwas Association for 7 years and served on its board of directors.
Bob has taught business law and real estate at the college level and resides in Laconia with his wife, Patti. They have four children and seven grandchildren.
